Most people call us about lighting for one of two reasons. Either a room never had enough light to begin with, or the outside of the house goes dark in a way that feels unsafe.
Both are fixable, and neither has to mean tearing up your ceilings. We install new fixtures, add circuits where they are missing and replace the ones that were put in wrong the first time. Common questions
Can you add recessed lighting without tearing up my ceiling?
In most cases, yes. We cut a small opening for each light and fish the wire through the ceiling instead of opening it up. Older homes with tight framing or blown-in insulation are harder, and we will tell you before we start if yours is one of them.
Is it worth switching my old fixtures to LED?
Usually. LEDs use less power and last far longer, so you stop replacing bulbs in hard to reach places. The difference most people actually notice is the light quality, so we can show you a couple of color temperatures before you commit to a whole house.
Do you install outdoor lighting on a timer or a sensor?
Yes. Motion sensors, dusk to dawn sensors and timers are all options. For driveways and walkways we usually suggest a mix, so the path stays lit and the bright light only comes on when something moves.
Can you hang a ceiling fan where there is only a light now?
Often, but not with the box that is there. A standard light box is not built to hold something that spins. We swap it for a fan rated box anchored to the framing. It is a small part of the job and it is the part that keeps the fan on the ceiling.
Will new lighting overload my panel?
LED lighting draws very little, so lighting on its own rarely causes a problem. If your panel is already full or dated, we will say so and explain your options instead of adding one more thing to it.
